In celebration of the arrival of the sun after four months of shadow, Seyðisfjörður town hosted the List í ljósi festival, a week long arts festival that included a film festival, exhibitions, workshops, parties and performances. Alexander Bartleet was invited to participate and to respond to the town and it’s harsh but beautiful landscape.

The sculptures were designed as a response to the objects and materials that are often used by the working communities in Seyðisfjörður. The materials were sourced locally to construct the installation and were reconfigured and used as art materials - perceived by the artist as sculptural things instead of their previous functions.
